Frenchy Mix at TNT

Kian loves TNT. He likes going into Morrison, he likes the food, he likes the experience. He chose TNT for brunch today.

I had the Frenchy Mix... French toast, bacon, eggs--mine were over medium, and I added hash browns. We sat outside so the overhead lattice was making an awful cross pattern on my plate. My sister held a napkin so I could take a less obstructed shot. Hehe

This was my only meal, today... Since I had my flight back through dinner. Glad it was a good/big one!

Legit Mexican Food

After the blah experience we had at Rocko's Tacos the other day, I told Andrea that we needed to focus on eating some legit Mexican food.

She tried to take me one place, but it was closed... Apparently 9PM on Saturday night isn't dinner time anymore in Colorado ;)

We ended up a Jose O'Sheas.

Andrea recommended the Chile Relleños. They were delicious. The chips and salsa weren't the best, but definitely passable.

Snacky Hodgepodge

We watched Wreck It Ralph after Kian's baseball game. My sister & Kian noshed through the whole game. When it was over, I collected some veggies and dip, added some chips, rolled ham around sliced provolone & ate a snacky hodgepodge.

While we were out shopping, Andrea remembered I has asked her about Red Mango. I had mentioned a google offer for bogo on the popping boba smoothies. We shared both flavored, mango and strawberry.

Breakfast Burrito & Chia

Andrea made breakfast burritos ... Ham steak, white cheddar cheese and eggs with Tapatio loaded into a tortilla.

Plus I polished off the other half of yesterday's chia seed pudding... I made servings twice the size of at home.

Birthday BBQ

My sister invited a few friends to BBQ for Kian's bday.

He asked for a minecraft cake. I did my best not really knowing what it is.

My sister BBQ'd chicken and lil smokies for the kids. I skipped the French Fries and had 2 half ears of corn instead. Then I had my piece of cake.

Towel Picnic

We packed up lunch to eat at the water park. We forgot plates. So we had a towel picnic.

Hawaiian sweet rolls with turkey and provolone and ham and white cheddar. Carrots and peas. Grapes. And Cool Ranch Doritos.

Angry Face

Today is Kian's birthday. We made him a cinnamon roll cake, when he was young as part of a birthday brunch. Keeping with our weird traditions we baked up some orange glazed cinnamon rolls and bacon. I made it into a face.

Brought some chia seeds and ate some of my pudding, too.

Chick-Fil-A

Spicy chicken sandwich, waffle fries & a Dr. Pepper. I don't recall having Chick-Fil-A, before... It was reasonable for fast food. At least Kian had fun in the play place.

Awful Mexican Food

I am always excited to have Mexican food that isn't in New York... But today's was awful! We wanted a simple Mexican meal. And we got under seasoned carnitas, over spiced guacamole, lumpy queso and dry tortillas. How disappointing!

Smoothie King

The Delta terminal at JFK is a nightmare!
The only good options were Wendy's, Smoothie King and Starbucks. Everything was extremely crowded. I decided on a smoothie since I had such a huge lunch. The one called immune boost sounded good, since I was boarding a plane. Strawberry, orange banana, apple and protein.

Sushies for Jonathan's 32nd

I invited Jonathan for lunch to celebrate his birthday before I went to Colorado and he goes to California.

I was so hungry since I didn't have dinner after Afternoon Tea, so we ordered & ate like it was a party... And it was!

We started with a new addition to the menu, a spicy salmon pizza. Had salads. Shared a Belly Delight Roll, basically a tuna avocado roll on steroids covered with salmon. And a sushi deluxe.

Decided on a split dessert just to end on a sweet note and celebrate a bit more... Tempura fried green tea ice cream.

We laughed because our meal has mint while our dessert had parsley. Who points that out?!

Chia in the Office

I had to take my chia on the go, today. I spent the morning lollygagging and didn't leave until 10:15 without having eaten. Oops.

Tea & Tower

Afternoon Tea at the Plaza. We had the Fitzgerald Tea for the Ages... Easier to add the menu page rather than retype it all.

I had pear rooibos, the Fitzgerald Tea tower, as described in the menu below & an extra dish of dessert included a chocolate dipped strawberry, black & white cookie and lemon macaron in addition to some things we'd already had on the tower.

Moules Frites Provencal

Scott and I went for our Moules Frites and Salad split, today. We've been working our way through the menu...Provençal mussels with tomato, basil and garlic & today's salad was mixed greens with goat cheese and honey.

Chia Closeup

It's getting hard to make this interesting... Here's a close up... Sorry :-/

Domino's Coupon

I love a coupon... $5.99 per item when you order two or more... Yes please!

Jonathan and I met up for tv night... The Bachelorette. When he finished up his yoga class it was too late to cook then watch. So we ordered in and watched.

Dominos medium pizza and mango habanero wings with ranch. I had mine with a bit of orange Fanta. I ate my 1/4 and Jonathan finished his 3/4!

Japanese with Jac & Dan

Scott & Tom were both out sick. It was a weird day without them. But I did have a lovely lunch with Jac & Dan at Ariyoshi, aka Japanese Upstairs.

We shared some pork buns and I had a yellowtail avocado roll and a spicy tuna handroll. It was served with salad.

Chia Pudding Perfected

I was reading about using chia seeds as an egg replacement. You let the seeds "bloom" at room temperature, and use the mixture as a binding agent like you would use an egg in cooking and baking. Using this advice, I decided to let the pudding bloom before putting it in the fridge over night. Third day texture on day one!

Plus, since I've heard some complaints on the stale nature of my breakfasts "chia and bagels", I took a photo from a different vantage point!

Brick Lane Overkill

Dinner out for uncle Sanjoy's birthday. A friend of theirs runs the UES location of Brick Lane.

We had so much food it was insane. Appetizers, lots of lamb, shrimp, fish paneer, some of the dishes on the house, 3 kinds of breads, rice, ginger creme brûlée and sparkling dessert wine.

Still so full and too tired to individually list each dish... Maybe another time.
