Provençal
Salad and mussels, both Provençal. Scott and I have been working our way through the list of mussels at BXL. Today we had the awesome salad that we'd had before and tomato, basil and garlic mussels. We were so full and barely touched the fries. I was still full and ended up skipping dinner all together.
Chia Threepeat
It's the 3rd day of chia seed pudding, ie. the best day. Best texture/consistency of the batch. I only made 3 bowls, so expect new breakfast tomorrow!

Spare Ribs. Risotto. Repeat.
Leftovers from last night, another repeat. Didn't even bother to take it out of the take out container. Boooo on being sick! Boring day for the food blog. Sorry!

Cheese Not Dessert
Autumn loves tiramisu... So when I mentioned there is an Italian restaurant called tiramisu near my apartment, we definitely needed to go there.
I opted to share the burrata for appetizer rather than eat some of the tiramisu for dessert. Stupid lungs making me miss out on dairy!
We started with burrata, tomatoes, artichokes and olives and an awesome bread basket.
Then I had braised short ribs over risotto. And watched as they ate tiramisu... My spoon sitting sad and alone. Haha!
It was a nice way to start venturing out after being sick and a good last meal to send them off.
Guac Delivery
I wanted guac, so I made a few scoop nachos as guac delivery devices. A bit of shredded cheese, a drop of cholula bad a scoop of guac. Yummy "lunch".

Baked BBQ Chicken
I wanted BBQ, but being in Manhattan on a rainy day, I went with baked chicken thighs in BBQ sauce. I wasn't super hungry, but was able to throw together some roasted garlic and parmesan smashed potatoes and steamed an artichoke (with ranch dressing) to go along side.
Baraonda Brunch
Autumn wanted a champagne brunch, so I made a reservation for a place in the neighborhood. It was nice to get out of the apartment, but a bummer that it was threatening rain all day.
I had a mushroom and fontina omelet with fries and a salad, which was really just lettuces. The omelet was good, but nothing spectacular. I used some of the tomato based sauce that was served with the bread basket to liven it up a bit.
The best part was just getting out of the house. I guess I knew I wasn't feeling well, I left the phone at home & had to borrow Scott's to take these photos!

Sore Throat Soup
I wanted some soup, since my throat is so sore from coughing. I offered shrimp udon and couldn't resist a tuna and avocado hand roll. Perfect meal for an evening where I'm not feeling great.
Just a Small Salad
Autumn requested a small salad for lunch. She and I got choose your own spinach salads from Hale & Hearty, Scott opted for a slice at the pizza shop next door.
My salad was spinach, goat cheese, edamame, quinoa, chick peas, and mushrooms with balsamic vinaigrette.
Bagel Dumb Dumb
Scott and I went out to grab some bagels. We went to the pick a bagel near the subway, thinking H&H and the 2nd Ave pick a bagel would be overrun at 10:30.
I ordered from a quick guy, Scott ordered from the Bagel Dumb Dumb, he had to tell her 3 times what he wanted and she still got it wrong.
My whole wheat everything bagel, toasted, with cream cheese was delicious though.

Tandoor Oven
Scott & Autumn are in town... They arrived this evening after a wedding in New Hampshire.
We went for an Indian meal at Tandoor Oven near my apartment. We shared vegetable samosas and papadam to start, lamb kebab dish, chicken tikka masala, another chicken dish, but the name escapes me, had garlic naan which was oddly sweet & some very flavorful rice. They brought us mango ice cream and rice pudding as dessert on the house.
Farewell, Peristera
Today was Peristera's last day on the team. We took her to Korea Palace for bibimbop. I had shrimp & brown rice, plus some of the free stuff at the beginning.

Cool Day for Soup
We went to Obao, again. Singapore Laksa with buckwheat noodles, spicy coconut broth with shrimp & pork belly, steamed dumplings, the free noodle appetizer, and a Thai iced coffee.
So much food that I took half of the soup home for dinner.

Nachos!
I didn't feel like having any meat, so my usual Stag's Head southwest turkey burger or fried chicken salad was out... Lead me back to my old favorite, nachos!
Yum.
Brunch Between Meetings
Tom, Scott, Jac and I grabbed brunch at LPQ. I had the basket with pain au chocolat, breads and spreads, orange juice and coffee with soy milk.
At our 1pm meeting, Alicia gave us fortune cookies.
Lychee Tofu Chia
Christine and I found lychee flavored tofu at the Filipino grocery store. Today, I sprinkled chia seeds on top & ate it for breakfast... And an apple.

Only Meal at 730PM
A trip to the Digg Inn provided my only solid meal today. Between the meetings, fires to fight and butting up against deadlines for deliverables, there is so little time to eat! Luckily I had a handful of crackers and a babybell cheese to tide me over as my blood sugar made me so cranky I couldn't focus. The guys realized we had a long night ahead of us and decided we should get some food.
I got unfried rice, wild salmon salad, cucumber watermelon salad, broccoli and quinoa salad, and spinach strawberry and walnut salad.

4-Minute CTM
I skipped lunch because of a nutty day of meetings and phone calls. I had a granola bar and a banana... But didn't eat an actual meal until 9:30 when I got home from the office and was wholly unmotivated to cook anything.
I microwaved a 4-minute chicken tikka masala meal from FreshDirect. Quick and tasty.
Banana Creme Yogurt Chia
I spaced on making my chia pudding last night. Mostly a function of being so tired that I was functioning zombie-style.
I emptied a banana creme yogurt into a bowl and mixed my tablespoon of chia seeds in... Not the most pleasing of textures, but it was quick nutrients.
Writing this I realize I didn't make any for tomorrow either, fortunately I have a few more yogurts!

Salmon Sauté
Onions, lemons, herbs, salt, pepper and olive oil make for the perfect sautéed salmon filet. Served with some jalapeño Israeli cous cous and veggies sautéed in the salmon pan. Perfect dinner for one.
Salsa Eggs
I bought 3 dozen eggs at Costco this weekend, so I started today. Salsa eggs with a bit of cheese and cholula.

Belgian Dinner & A Baci Bomb
I met Aimee, Andrew and Laura for dinner at B. Cafe. Belgian food had shown its face a lot recently.
I had a beat and goat cheese salad, which as you will notice in the photo was not the "salad" one would expect, but it was still delicious.
Then followed with beer and garlic mussels with fries.
We went to a wine bar, I didn't eat or drink anything besides water, but was feeling like dessert.
When everyone was ready to head home I stayed out and went to a different place with Laura... Mostly to convince her to share dessert. Not a difficult task, she loves the Baci Bomb (chocolate hazelnut mousse) at Uva. We explain to each server that our name is better. One day I hope they change it. Funny part was a Frenchman at the next table was being funny with his girlfriends, insisted on paying their bill. I said, you can buy mine if they won't let you... He bought theirs and ours. Kindness of strangers, right?
Quick Cheesy Chips
I needed a quick afternoon snack so I finished a bag of scoops, shredded cheese and hot sauce for a microwaved tv snack with some iced green tea.
Bagel with Swiss
Always just as easy to get two bagels as one. So I had a second one delivered, yesterday.
I ate in preparation for our shopping trip to Costco and Target to be sure I didn't buy everything just because I was hungry!

Heat Wave Ice Cream
It is miserable out. My appetite is still missing. The remaining inch of health bar crunch ice cream was good though!
Laos Steak Salad
We had lunch at Obao. It was so hot that we cut through one of the privately owned public spaces to take advantage of the AC. The restaurant was hot, I was uncomfortable, we had steak salads. It was good, but I was hot and hardly had an appetite.
The free appetizer was chicken toast with peanut curry sauce. We all gave the second piece to Tom. Jackie ordered her salad extra spicy. I got that one by mistake.
