An Easy Combo
You'd think mac n cheese and chicken wings would be an easy combo, but it took me 15 pub/diners to find someone who would deliver both together...
SB's Birthday Eve Lunch
SB and I went for our mussels and salad lunch & I treated for his birthday Eve lunch...
Goat cheese and honey salad with the white wine and shallot mussels.

Dallas BBQ
The end of a long standing tradition.
Jonathan's last night in NY before moving to San Fransisco. He chose Dallas BBQ.
I had the chicken and rib combo, sauce on the side with a baked potato and corn bread.
Indian Take Out
I went in for a half day after last night's red eye. The team was ordering Indian food... They got me lamb korma, daal, rice, naan & sauces.
Yummy!

Christmas Leftovers
No one wanted to go to the grocery store, cook, or really even eat... So we had Christmas leftovers.
Second verse, same as the first...
TNT Tradition
Last breakfast in Colorado... Couldn't miss TNT.
I had the Mexican scramble with hashbrowns and sourdough toast.
Awesome for $6.99!

Tapas at the 9th Door
Andrea, Amanda and I met up with Melissa and Jim, a colleague of Andrea's and her husband.
We had tapas at the 9th Door in Downtown Denver.
The menu was too long, so I just told Andrea to do the ordering. I was certainly the least picky of the bunch and enjoyed everything we had.
The first round was flash fried avocado, jamon wrapped stuffed dates, jamon, and grilled shrimp, then scallops, beet salad, spaghetti squash, then calamari, and pork skewers.
Finally we decided on 2 desserts split by 3, the creme brûlée and the chocolate lava cake.
High Pressure Plating
My sister made hashbrowns and ham for breakfast. As she set it down in front of me, she said she feels pressured to get the plating done well, since it'll be photographed for my blog.
Pretty funny, since it was just ham and potatoes with some sliced pears. Silly Ading!

Pastrami Bacon
We ran our of bacon bits to top our leftover baked potato soup... So I fried up some pastrami leftover from Ruben night and chunked it up on top with the cheese.
Butter Braid & Seeds with Seeds
Repeating breakfasts... First some leftover butter braid, then some chia seed pudding with pomegranate seeds.

Taco Thursday
We whipped up a quick batch of tacos. Amanda made the meat and heated up refried beans and tortillas.
I chopped the veggies... Tomatoes. Avocados. Lettuce.
Pre-Park Lunch
We needed to feed the kids before going out to play in the park. We had sandwiches and Cheetos with a few slices of cheese.
My sandwich was turkey and Swiss on rye with mustard.
Butter Braid
So, there's this weird fundraiser where you buy frozen bread from school children. You have to remember to take it out if the freezer 8-12 hours in advance if wanting to eat it to let it thaw and rise.
We forgot, then remembered. It was a cream cheese filled pastry with cream cheese icing. Not bad for a frozen fundraiser.

Christmas Dinner
We had an early Christmas dinner, so we spent the time between breakfast and dinner preparing food and playing with the new games and puzzles.
We made honey mustard pork tenderloin, mashed and sweet potatoes, chicken gravy, green bean casserole, and beer braised applesauce.
I was so full, but made room for a piece of Gram's nut bread, 4 hours later.
Cookie Cutter Pancakes
Tradition dictates that the children's pancakes will be cut out using cookie cutters to make for a fun and delicious breakfast.
This year, my sister extended the tradition to my plate... For the photo!

Soup & Sammies
As tradition dictates, I made baked potato soup and Andrea put together a deli tray. Merry Christmas Eve!
Grilled Cheddar
Andrea got a wheel of sharp cheddar from her cheese vendor. I cut into it to shred for baked potato soup and made grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.
Cheetos and apple slices on the side...
French Toast & Bacon
Amanda made French toast and I made bacon. Together, a perfect meal.
Add a caramel egg nog latte and you can't get any better!

Ruben and Auntie Salad
Andrea got a bag of pastrami from a vendor & we added sauerkraut, Swiss and French dressing on rye bread to make quick and easy Rubens.
We made auntie Vivianne salad as a side, goat cheese crumbles, tomato, Bosc pear and a sweet vinegarette over mixed greens.
McDonalds Play Place
In the Colorado winter, you find ways to escape the cabin fever. We went to McDonalds today to play in the play place and I tried the new sweet chili wrap & fries.
Nothing phenomenal, but a decent alternative to a burger for McDonalds.
Seeds in Seeds
I made chia seed pudding with almond milk and added pomegranate seeds. Kian and I shared. He loved it & asked for more. Nutrients!

Italian Dinner and the Bears
The Bears lost, but at least we had a nice Italian meal to watch the Eagles beat them.
Kian was yelling at the tv while the rest of us are lasagna, salad and Texas toast style garlic bread.
Biscuits One and Two
Amanda made biscuits and gravy with
sausage and eggs.
I added hot sauce and ketchup to my eggs and cut the sausage up into my biscuits. Down home southern cooking!
For a snack in the afternoon I finished the last biscuit--warmed up with some blackberry jam.

Large Pho for 3
Following our tradition, started last year, Andrea, Amanda and I split a large pho and an appetizer during our holiday shopping. Not nearly as last minute, but still snowy.
We had brisket and rare steak pho and pork dumplings to start... Good shopping energy.
When I got home I sampled one of the peanut butter chocolate blossoms from our palooza.
Regular Salad
When making our grocery list, today's lunch was written up as "regular salad".
It was a variation on Cobb, I suppose... Ham, tomatos, avocado, apples and cheese over torn heard of romaine with Italian dressing.
Orange Cinnamon Rolls
We often had the canned Pillsbury orange cinnamon rolls growing up. They often had coupons for them in the Sunday paper, or we likely wouldn't have had them at all!
Nice to revisit a weird childhood memory.
Paired with hashbrowns and turkey bacon, it was a nice start to the day.

Chicken Pot Pie
Amanda made a chicken pot pie for dinner along with some corn on the cob. Nice wholesome meal for my first night.
For dessert we had some Scottish shortbread that Amanda made for the international holiday party at school.
Darn Good Salad
Andrea brought me a salad from one ofher stores knowing I'm usually so hungry when I arrive.
It was darn good :)
Airport Breakfast
After a cab to the airport, a line for checked luggage, a line for security, I got in line for Dunkin Donuts.
I had a sausage, egg and cheese on a crossiant. Pretty solid for an airport breakfast.

Holiday Party Noshing
We don't really have dinner a lot during the holiday season... A lot of noshing. Today I had a plate of cheese and veggies with a pretzel roll.
Halal & Banana
I love meat and bananas. I can't help it. It tastes natural to me.
Today was halal cart day for me and SB. Super delicious. Lamb over rice and salad with roasted veggies.
