Leftover Ham, Take 1

There is so much leftover ham that I imagine this the first of many leftover ham posts.

Hawaiian sweet rolls toasted with ham, white cheddar, mustard and a side of chips, which, truth be told I put into my sandwich for crunch!

Holy Macarons

Christine stopped by Laduree this afternoon to grab some macarons. She got them on the way to church so she texted saying she was bringing by the holy macarons. Happy Easter!

Easter brunch

Today's brunch was awesome. Everything was delicious.

The menu:
1. French Toast Casserole with berry compote
2. Mushroom, Leek & Gruyere Frittata with caramelized onions
3. Maple & red pepper glazed bacon
4. Spiral Cut Ham
5. Home fries
6. Fruit salad
7. Coconut Cake with Peeps
8. Iced Tea
9. Lemonade (to make Arnold palmers)
10. Mimosas

I didn't have a mimosa or a piece of cake, but I did enjoy the bite of cake as I was cleaning it up.

PreBrunch Breakfast

I started preparing for my Easter brunch party at about 9am. I was so hungry by 11 that I made an English muffin with peanut butter and bananas to tide me over until all of the food was ready.

Midnight Snack

I stayed up doing some prep work for tomorrow's Easter brunch and watching dvr'd Fashion Star episodes with my aunt. We decided on a midnight snack. Chips and onion dip.

Soup Dumplings!

I took a walk in Central Park before meeting my aunt and uncle at Joe's Shanghai for dinner. 3 orders of crab & pork soup dumplings (awesome!) and a shared order of garlic scallop & prawns over white rice. Then I had a red bean mochi for dessert at intermission of Cinderella. Top notch day!

Homemade Egg McMuffin

We made breakfast sandwiches--bacon, egg & white cheddar on English muffins. I squished my top on too hard and I broke the yolk. It was a great start to the day.

Ichi Umi

Buffet lunch. So much food. Yummy sushi and seafood, plus fresh lychees with dessert today. I love going to ichi umi!

Cheese and Fig Jam

I decided to cover my nooks and crannies with different flavors today: sharp white cheddar on half and fig jam on the other. And I brewed a new kind coffee from Trader Joe's.

New Wok Stir Fry

Auntie Vivianne and I tried out my new wok by stir frying up some steak, baby bellos, and asparagus over brown rice. With a quick appetizer of smoked oysters on rice crackers.

Japxican!

My lunch today was Japxican, just like Matty! The Domo Taco truck was parked near the office so I tried Japanese Nacho Tots tater tots topped with nacho cheese, salsa roja, okinomi sauce, japanese mayo, nori and shaved bonito. And a chicken burrito on a flour tortilla served with rice, refried beans, cheddar, monterey jack, salsa roja, salsa verde, soy miso slaw and sesame crema with charcoal grilled lemongrass chicken. Fascinating combinations.

Bun with Auntie Viv

Auntie Viv is visiting from California for a few days. We started our tour with bun from my local Vietnamese joint. The meal started with shrimp chips and ended with mango sticky rice.

Katsu Bento Box

Scott, Jac & I ate lunch at Matsu II before a meeting. I wasn't in the sushi mood since I did the all you can eat this weekend. But went along and got a pork katsu bento box with miso soup. Then a tempura banana with red bean ice cream.

Philly Cheesesteak

Seamless had a 15% of coupon code so I put the Trader Joe's turkey chili back in the cabinet and ordered in a Philly cheesesteak and waffle fries. Probably should have gone healthier after a pizza lunch, but whatever.

Pizza & a Salad

We split a pizza, just cheese and a family size arugula salad with endive and radicchio, it was entertaining to me that there were only 2 pieces of each surrounding a large bowl of arugula for a late lunch between meetings.

Curbing Late Lunch Hangry

I haven't had a bagel from café today in a while. I got my usual whole-wheat everything bagel toasted with jalapeño cream cheese. Glad I did since lunch wasn't until after a series of meetings at 2PM.

Quick Concoction

I needed to cook quickly because I was super hungry when I got home.

I grabbed a box of shells and cheese, mixed in the rest of grape tomatoes and some sriracha. Had some toasted olive bread with the leftover herbed goat cheese while I waited for it to cook.

Lunch Meeting Hodgepodge

Love a lunch meeting where there isn't a sandwich in the place. Some of my team went to observe at the IRB meeting today. Buffet lunch. I had a little bit of beef,
chicken, pasta, veggies and salad. Then a plate of fruit.

Tardy for St. Patty's Day

I bought corned beef and cabbage last week to make a St. Patrick's day meal, but ended up out to dinner with Courtney instead. So Christine, Jonathan and I had a make up dinner tonight.

I made a quick appetizer with herbed goat cheese and grape tomatoes on crackers. Then corned beef and cabbage with onions and potatoes and a fig mustard sauce. Then brownie sundaes with triple chocolate brownies, vanilla ice cream with melted Nutella.

Mmm... Lox

I ordered in some breakfast & when telling Christine about it she said, "Mmm... lox." Indeed!

Everything bagel, toasted with cream cheese, red onion slices, tomato slices, lox, olives, cucumbers and a pickle. Plus a cup of coffee. Perfect breakfast!

AYCE Sushi

Met up with Shawnathan at Yuka for All You Can Eat Sushi. Too much sushi. So many crabsticks. So full. It said AYCE so many places that it made me giggle.

Mexican Scramble

Leftovers from last night's dinner made a delicious (though not very photogenic) breakfast scrambled with 3 eggs.

Noche Margarita

Mexican delivery of a burritos, rice and beans, and fried plantains from Christine's new favorite neighborhood spot. Was decent, but I was full after eating half. More tomorrow, maybe with some eggs?

Chirashi

Getting back to Friday tradition. Love my bowl of sushi rice covered in a variety of sashimi!

Last Ensaymada

My last bit of Filipino happiness (until I get back to the store, of course). It was delicious!

Chocolate Dinner

Nothing sounded good for dinner... But I was really excited about my Cadbury caramel egg!

Quick Salad

Less than 40 minutes for lunch... Cafe Today makes a great salad, as salad from cafes go. Bag of chips and an iced tea shovel lunch into mouth and on to a meeting!

Philippine Bread Company Cheese Roll

Another great breakfast from the Filipino grocery store. Sadly, the last one will be eaten tomorrow.

Heap of Dip

I met Aimee for a quick bite before our show. We met at 7:05 by the time she was off the subway, for a 7:30 curtain, so we just popped quickly into Chipotle. The girl who made my burrito bowl was very heavy handed with all of the toppings so it looks like a heap of dips.
