Burger Special

Scott and I had Stag's Head for a late lunch. $10 burger special (plus $1.50 for cheese).

Cheeseburger, medium rare, pepper jack cheese, Cajun fries. And a Lagunitas IPA.

Midwinter Holiday Party

The JCTO has their midwinter party tonight at a pool hall. They had Mexican food catered in from Apprevecho.

I had a chicken empanada, made my own taco, plus chips, salsa and guac. It was quite tasty, especially for mass quantity catering.

For dessert they brought out churros with chocolate sauce. The chocolate was served in a ketchup (red) squeeze bottle. Someone asked if I has put hot sauces on mine.

Shrimp Gumbo

I left to grab a salad but the lines were 10-12 people deep at both of the places nearby. I walked into a 3rd place to see their soup selections. Shrimp gumbo sounded good. I also got a veggie cheese roll to use as a dipper.

Quite delicious.

Pizza Party

We are nearing the end of January, so I pressured the team to meet our goal of a team activity once a month.

Today we ordered in from Angelo's. 4 pizzas, sausage, cheese, mushrooms and one with olives and onions. Plus a few starters, caprese salad, a green salad, and rolls.

And I made triple chocolate brownies with peanut butter chips as dessert.

Talking through Mouthfuls

Midday meetings, as usual, on Tuesdays. I brought the other half of last night's meal for lunch. I talked with my mouthful and ate my delicious leftovers.

My First NY Meal

Ten years later I ordered in to recreate my first meal in NY.

Baluchi's chicken tikka masala, rice, naan, samosa, raita, mango chutney, mint & tamarind sauces.

Then a slice of red ribbon mango cake for dessert. A little squished from the trek from Queens. Not part of the original tradition, rather the celebratory end to my 10 year NY anniversary.

Conference Call Salad

I sat on call after call, between a few I went out for a salad.

Spinach, marinated mushrooms, bleu cheese, red onion, kidney beans, chickpeas, beets, black olives, corn & avocado. A few splashes of balsamic vinegarette and a race back to join my next conference call.

Greek Goodness

Gyro and feta fries. A favorite meal from Mamagyro. I ate quickly since it was so cold in the living room. Ate the fries with a fork to be sure to get all of the feta goodness. Yummy, I wish I had more now!

Ensaymada Breakfast

Always a nice treat after a trip to Queens. I love my Filipino bakery runs! But I was very good and only got the one.

Sri Pra Phai

On the way back from Connecticut... We stopped by the Restoration Hardware. Exciting the parking lot we turned out on to Roosevelt. I said, ooooh, we can get Filipino food! After a bit of discussion I decided Sri Pra Phai was a better bet. We were all so hungry the drive down Roosevelt seemed like an eon.

We had delicious food. Andrew requested a squid salad. I wanted panang curry with beef and watercress. We also had chicken drunken noodles, coconut caramel sticky rice with crispy rice, coconut coffee jelly, and Thai iced tea with boba.

Dunkin Bagel Sandwich

Bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel and hash browns. First stop of the day in Freedlandia. Good start to a fun day.

Greek-style Chopped Salad

I grabbed a quick chopped Greek salad. Easy and inexpensive.

Beets, chickpeas, tomato, feta and radish over a bed of lettuce with Greek dressing.

Schnippers

Scott wanted to try out the new Schnippers near the office, so we popped out for a quick bite between meetings.

I had no idea what I wanted reading the gigantic menu board, so I went with what I was reading when I was asked. Green chili turkey burger. And Scott offered to share fries.

It was really good. A turkey patty with a sauce and green chilies on a whole wheat bun and McDonald's similar fries.

Pizza Taco

It's so cold I can't be bothered to cook let alone sit at the table to eat.

I microwaved a mama Celeste and folded it in half like a taco to make it easy to dip in ranch dressing and eat quickly.

Still laughing about it!

Chirashi Excitement

We hadn't been in so long that it makes it a but more exciting to go.

Chirashi, miso soup & salad. Bomb lunch!

Treats from India

Aparna, my newest employee, brought in almond treats from her son's recent return from India.

It was an almond confection with silver leaf. A tasty treat for 'breakfast' during our team meeting.

Pre-theater Apps

I had too much lunch after a bagel so in shared some apps with David before newsies.

JalapeƱo cheddar bombas and parmesan herb pretzel.

The 'potle

Scott and I ate at Chipotle. We had burrito bowls. I had mine vegetarian and we shared a bag of Jared's favorite "chips".

JalapeƱo Cream Cheese

I didn't eat dinner (or much else) all day but today I need to catch up.

I started the day with an old favorite from
cafe Today. JalapeƱo cream cheese on a whole wheat everything bagel.

Baby Blue Eggplant

I only had the one meal, today. And not until 4:15. Stupid meetings. Stupid snow. Luckily I had knew my calendar was a disasco, so I planned ahead and ordered baby eggplant in garlic sauce and brown rice when I got my sushi yesterday.

Christoff was in my office while I was eating and said that it was weird because the eggplant was blue. He wasn't wrong...

Lamb Leftovers

I finished up the leftovers from my lamb shank at Artisanal. Looks like poop in a bowl, but it was might tasty!

Sushi & Shumai

Spicy tuna hand roll, yellowtail jalapeƱo roll and shrimp shumai with spicy ponzu. Top notch lunch!

MiniBagel2

Second of 2 minibagels today. Same as the first... Toasted, sharp white cheddar cheese slices.

Playoff Wings

Football playoffs mean wings. I wasn't going to order them. But I couldn't stop myself. I didn't eat most of the fries. I wish I could just order a handful rather than a plateful.

MiniBagel

I got an extra minibagel when I ordered in, yesterday. Always need a bit more than what I want to order to meet the delivery minimum.

So today's breakfast was a sourdough minibagel, toasted, with a few pieces of sharp white cheddar cheese.

Fondue, Truffles, Entrees and Dessert

Artisanal meal... At Artisanal

We started with Gouda and Stout fondue. Bread, apples and fingerling potatoes to dip.

Then truffled cheese with baguette.

Entrees next, I had the Saturday special. Seven hour lamb shank, goat cheese polenta and ratatouille.

For dessert we shared the warm chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream.

Tuna and Tofu

I ordered in a toasted whole wheat everything bagel with scallion tofu and no mayo tuna salad with veggies.

It's an awesome combo... I should have it more often.

Sunday Supper

Scott and I had lunch too late, again. Midday meetings are the worst.

We go to lunch ravenously hungry and can't find a place to sit down and have a reasonable amount of food. Our sushi place closed before we left... I chose the Pullman Kitchen.

Scoff and I both has the Sunday Supper grilled sandwich. It was awesome, but super messy... I are it mostly with a fork and knife. It was a mozzarella grilled cheese stuffed with Bolognese sauce. I had the side of waffle fries.

Then we had Captain Crunch milkshakes for dessert!

So much food at 3PM that it was my only meal of the day.

Trendy Club Like Thai

It trips me out when restaurants feel like you're eating on the dance floor of a club. Between the atmosphere, lighting and music, I felt like I was eating summer rolls and mixed seafood ginger and pineapple in a dance club.

The food tasted good despite the glow of the disco like spotlights and overall purple hue.

Surf & Turf Burrito

Scott, Stephen and I walked down to Baja Fresh for lunch. A sign on the wall said, "more shrimp, same price". It seemed like an odd thing to use as an LTO, but hey, who doesn't want more shrimp.

I got the steak and shrimp burrito. Why wouldn't I want surf & turf for $9.99?

LTK

Laura and I met up at LTK-Little Thai Kitchen for an early bird dinner. I joked that we were meeting like old ladies. 5:45 dinner for gossip & chatter.

It was fun!

We shared Lemongrass Shrimp as an appetizer, I had mango fish curry with rice  and we shared mango sticky rice for dessert (after having paid the check, but feeling guilty for our 3 hour stint in the tiny, though quite empty restaurant).
